Holy Updates Batman!

It's been a few months since I've updated. I have not abandoned you blog! So many things have happened and I've been super busy!



Firstly, PariahCon 2011! It took place June 11-12 in Lakeland, FL and was super fun! It was our first year and I'd say we had an overall success! My Miss Pokemon Universe Event went very well also. We have 13 entries and it was a blast! :D


Lucario (contestant wearing blue on the right) was crowned Miss Pokemon Universe and we also gave out 4 other shashes for best costume, best personality, judges choice, and MC's choice. Overall wonderful turn out for year one! :) I'm really looking forward to next year's Miss Pokemon Universe. I have also taken over the Costume Contest Event for next year. Yep, that's right! I'll be running this puppy! So I've been hitting the con-circuit watching the costuming events and doing my research!


A week later I attended MetroCon in Tampa, FL. I must say it completely killed my convention high from Pariah. :\ I've realized that while Metro is big, Metro was kinda lame. Maybe it's just not my kind of convention. And that's right. I put myself together a quick Rose Tyler costume. It was fun to walk around in. I wasn't to recognizable, but the people who did know my character really appreciated that I made a good Rose. :)



Never fear! I've gotten back into my convention groove! I have started planning my costumes for AFO and Dragon*Con! I'm not much for anime, but I do plan on entering AFO's costume contest. So to do that I needed to make an anime costume. After much debate (since I dont watch much anime) I have chosen and started collecting! Here's a sneak peek! Can you guess who I'm working on :) Stay tuned for more costuming and crafty updates!

So much to do!

I've been so busy lately! Work, Swaps, Convention Planning! It really knows how to eat up your time. PariahCon is less than 1 month away! I feel a bit overwhelmed because I have to get some Miss Pokemon Sashes made and I currently have no one to make them! D: Time to scout out the local sewing shops for someone who will take a commission on an embroidery machine. I hope that goes well.

In other craft-tastic news, last month I joined the On-Going Wish Swap over on Craftster. Here are the goodies I mailed out to Miss PixieVal. I claimed her for some grannie squares and a Wisty Surprise!



Aren't those slippers just the cutest!? I bought Sylvia's Pattern for Skimmers and they turned out so cute! Bravo Sylvia! I would never have come up with constructing these slippers on my own. And I'm currently in the process of making a pair for myself :D

Weekend Recap!

Bath and Body Works discontinued my favorite scent Rainkissed Leaves. I realized this only this past weekend since I ran out of my hand soaps. So I skipped on over to Ebay and bought myself a lot of 9 foaming soaps! HAH! Take that Bath and Body works! I won't be running out anytime soon. :P

My boyfriend and I will be attending MegaCon this coming up Saturday. We need to promote PariahCon and it's Miss Pokemon Contest. What better way to do this than to dress up as Team Rocket Grunt!
My costume will differ from the one above. For one, I live in FL so I'll be wearing short sleeves. Given my last minute-ness on this costume, I'm hoping for the best. I doubt I'll be finding myself some gloves around this time of year. But we'll see :) I'll be passing out fliers and hopefully talking to some interested cosplayers. Kind of an odd situation, going to one con to completely promote another. lol

PariahCon Powa!

PariahCon is an upcoming convention taking place in Lakeland, FL on June 10th and 11th 2011. Yesterday the directors had a meeting to keep everyone updated about the planning out and events of the con. Good times. Hurray for Skype! Anyway, for those of you local FL Cosplayers, you should check out Pariah's website and plan on coming! We're still in the planning stages, so if anyone has any suggestions feel free to put them in the Forums!

One of my duties is to plan out the Miss Pokemon Universe Contest. I'm really excited about this! Basically, contestants will make a Moemon style costume for this contest. Contestants will be judged on creativity, originality, workmanship, and style. We even got a special guest judge especially for this contest! Its surely going to be an awesome time! I'm still working out some contest rules and details, but a link for this contest and pre-registration for this event should go up on the website in about a week. So start crafting cosplayers! The winner will be crowned Miss Pokemon Universe! Thats right....full out Tiara and Miss Pokemon Universe Sash!
